UPDATES
Things are going to take years to get back to where we were prior to January 12. I have been busy with a couple of teams. There was a group here from Oconomowoc/Milwaukee (17 college students and 5 leaders) - they were here to Evangelize. We held a Crusade each night. These young people were/are on fire for Christ. They brought many to receive Christ. Healed the deaf and blind and the sick all in the name of Jesus. It was an incredible week. They helped repair/restore a house for a widow here in the community, visited and played with the children at the orphanage and got to spend a day at the beach. It was an exhausting, but fulfilling week. AT the same time a doctor from Milwaukee staying at my house and working up at the hospital in the outpatient clinic. After the group left we spent a week going out and doing mobile clinics all over the area. She just went home yesterday.
One of the International organizations I contacted sent us a W/T of $30,000 to buy food here in the South - I have been busy on top of all the above getting food distributed into the community and surrounding areas. A school from Arkansas got together and sewed sun dresses, bought shorts and tops for the boys, made care packages and sent toys for the children in the orphanage (HCRM). While I was in PAP yesterday taking the Doctor back to the airport we stopped at the orphanage and brought all the stuff for the children. They had so much fun, and I had fun helping the girls find a dress that fit them.
Today there is a crew putting the roof on Pr. Etienne's school - I have to go and take some pictures. Later this week I will be going out to Basin Caiman and refit 200 children for shoes that were sent from Trinity - Pell Lake.
Sunday a group from New York is coming in to assess the situation here in Haiti. They have asked me to facilitate and take them around. This is another organization I was able to contact for help. They come in and help rebuild after natural disasters. They are looking to come in with a 3 - 4 year commitment in rebuilding homes, orphanages, schools. etc. So I will be busy with them for a week taking them around Haiti to see when and how they can start. They currently have over 200 volunteers waiting to come in and get started.
The food container that was ordered is here in country, just waiting for it to clear customs. They can't deliver it this week, because we have the Baptist Convention going on - 1000's of people will be here, and you can barely get a car through let alone a container.
I have enough paperwork to keep me busy until dooms day - but will eventually catch up.
Other than that, not a whole lot going on.
God's blessings
